Sonokinetic is giving away EMP Mark II, a multi-sampled Rhodes Mark II electric piano for Native Instruments Kontakt. The library, regularly priced at €49.90, can be downloaded completely free of charge from Sonokinetic’s website. The offer expires on December 25th.

EMP Mark II is a comprehensive Rhodes Mark II sample library, featuring up to seven sampled notes per octave and up to twelve velocity layers per sampled note. According to Sonokinetic, they have tried to capture every imperfection of the sampled piano and offer a library that is unlike any other virtual Rhodes on the market.

The instrument includes over 650 individual samples, adding up to over 1.4 GB of data when extracted. The library requires the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt. It will only work for fifteen minutes at a time in the freeware Kontakt Player.

The user interface is organized into three panels which provide access to different control parameters. The main panel features only two controls (volume and bass boost), whereas the other two panels include the controls for the FX section and the hammer and release adjustments.

A Sonokinetic user account is required in order to claim your free copy of EMP Mark II. You will also need to install the Sonokinetic Content Manager application which will download and required the product on your hard drive.

EMP Mark II is available for free download via Sonokinetic (offer ends on December 25th, EXE installer, contains 1 instrument patch for NI Kontakt 5).

  1. Too bad it requires the Full Version of Kontakt (which I don’t own). Thanks anyway, those who have Kontakt must feel very lucky!

  2. seeing all these kontakt freebies lately… i feel like maybe it’s time for some kind of upgrade to sfz to allow for scripting.
