Soundbytes Magazine Releases Free SB DDMF IIEQ Pro VST/AU Plugin

Plugin developer DDMF, in association with SoundBytes Magazine, has released the SB DDMF IIEQ Pro as a freeware VST/AU/RTAS/AAX plugin for both Windows and Mac OS based systems.

This six-band EQ has many different types of filtering available: 27 for every band. The main difference between the freeware version of the plugin and the full version ($39) appears to be the number of bands available (24 in the full version, compared to six in the freebie) and a few other bonus features.

The most attractive aspect of this handy EQ plugin are all the different filters that available to try for your frequency adjustments. While I won’t pretend to know the differences between all of them, Soundbytes and DDMF highlighted the Butterworth filters as the most notable one. They sound interesting to try, and the IIEQ Pro comes with 7 different slope options for them. For those unfamiliar, a Butterworth filter essentially prioritizes an extremely flat frequency response of the pass frequency.

For example, if you are high-passing your signal with a Butterworth filter at 30 Hz, the higher frequencies are minimally affected and the low cut happens immediately at 30 Hz without a gradual transition into the downward slope. The disadvantage to these filters is that they can introduce some phasing issues due to the sharp alterations of the frequency response. DDMF describes the IIEQ Pro as “adjusted for digital artifacts in higher frequencies” which perhaps means they have compensated for some of these phase issues.

I also appreciate DDMF putting in a high-quality frequency pre/post analyzer into this plug-in. Although some engineers attempt not to use visualizers and opt for their ears to make adjustments, I think the more information we can use to make decisions, the better. If you like the lite version of this EQ, the full version currently is discounted at 10%.

SB DDMF IIEQ Pro is available for free download via Soundbytes Magazine (14.7 MB download size, ZIP archive, 32-bit & 64-bit VST/AU/AAX/RTAS plugin for Windows & Mac OS).

Greetings Thomislav, I hope that you and the team are enjoying NAMM, Loads of exciting new stuff to lust over.
DDMF’s plug-ins are absolutely great and this like the CM versions of IIEQ & LP10 are stunning for nothing, As is the former pay-now free ColourEQ, He’s not got a plugin on his resume. As always all the very best, Catch you soon

  2. It’s actually 32-bit only, at least for Mac. I was surprised, I haven’t seen a 32-bit only for a very long time. However, all is good with a 32-to-64 bridge :)

  3. Umm…Butterworth filters do have a gradual slope, second only to Bessel filters, at least in their lower orders. And they’re also one of the most basic type of filters. I’m talking about analog though.

  4. Very good!
It is the first free equalizer with good filters, excluding MeldaEQ. it is a pity that he has notMid-Side. I have been waiting for something like that! Thank you !!!

  5. Got problems downloading, because bitdefender keeps blocking the page due to a malware warning ….
Has anyone experienced real malware problems with it?

  6. This version of IIEQ its better that CM :

    1 its have analizer
2 the curves have colour :)

Thanks Thomislav for your page, its great..

  7. There was no possible way to download the file in the browser, so I just copied the link to the file into “JDownloader2”, and that worked.

I scanned the archive with Bitdefender and nothing harmful was found, so I’m wondering why the file got blocked, because I was able to open the path to the file in the browser, where I saw the directory-view, but could not download the file itself…

Anyway, it’s a really great Plugin. Could easyily become one of my favourites! :-)
