Audiomodern Releases Free “Momentum” Sample Library (WAV)

Audiomodern has released Momentum, a freely downloadable collection of evolving atmospheric pads and sound effects in WAV format.

Momentum contains 30 royalty-free sounds in total, all available in 24-bit stereo WAV format. The included sample content covers drones, pads, atmospheric sounds, and evolving background textures. Most of the samples are around a minute long, with subtle timbral changes which make them suitable for use as background audio elements in a track. Some of the sounds can also be played melodically, with a bit of tweaking and manual keyboard mapping.

Although the sample pack doesn’t include any sampler presets, all sample filenames are labeled with key info to make MIDI keyboard mapping easier. If you want to play any of these sounds melodically, simply fire up your sampler instrument of choice and drop a sample to its labeled root note. Then, adjust the key range accordingly and shape the envelope to allow for longer release times. In most cases, this will result in a nice sounding patch which can be further spiced up with a bit of reverb and some delay.
