Free easyReverb VST/AU Plugin Released By SaschArt

SaschArt has introduced easyReverb, a freeware reverb effect in VST and AU plugin formats for digital audio workstations on PC and Mac.

easyReverb is an algorithmic reverb effect featuring a set of algorithms for simulating eight different types of acoustic spaces (Arena, Cathedral, Hallway, Corridor, Chamber, Metallic Box, Special Fly, and Special Explosion). It is more of a sound design tool than a standard mixing reverb, due to the somewhat unusual character of the simulated rooms. Then again, it can be used sporadically throughout the mix to achieve a certain type of special effect when needed.

Once the user has selected the type of acoustic space to be simulated, it is possible to customize the characteristics of its surface. There are six surfaces to choose from (Smooth, Waves, Granulated, Rippled, Zigzag, and Rich Zigzag), each resulting in a different type of reverb sound. This particular method of customizing the reverb tone is something that we’ve rarely seen in freeware reverb plugins to date.

The influence of both the space and the surface algorithms to the overall sound can be adjusted with the Accent controls (Space Accent and Surface Accent). Additional control parameters include Time, Diffuse, and Predelay, along with the Dry and Wet signal volume parameters. SaschArt has included a set of 60 presets to help new users get started with the plugin before creating their own patches. As is always the case with SaschArt products, the CPU hit is much lower when compared to similar VST plugins on the market.
