99Sounds Releases FREE Underground Sounds By Marcel Gnauk

99Sounds has released Underground Sounds, a free collection of field recordings created by Marcel Gnauk of Free To Use Sounds.

Underground Sounds contains 1.81 GB of royalty-free audio content. The included sounds were captured with two rather unusual recording devices: a geophone and a hydrophone. The first one is normally used to record seismic activity (aka earthquake sounds), and the other is used for recording sound underwater.

Marcel captured these field recordings in Iceland while visiting various locations. There’s tons of interesting stuff waiting to be discovered in Underground Sounds, from the soothing sounds of rain in a car interior to some eerie sound effects captured with the geophone. All included content is royalty-free. You can use these sounds as-is or process them to create new and unique sound effects.
