Chromaphone 3 is a physical modeling synthesizer by Acoustic Audio Systems. It can emulate real-life instruments, but you can also use it to generate completely new and original sounds.

Unlike subtractive or FM synthesizers, Chromaphone 3 uses eight physically modeled acoustic resonators as the sound source. It comes with over 1,000 presets to help new users get started. Mix and match the existing presets, or build your custom sounds from scratch.

The plugin sports a user-friendly interface that is an absolute joy to use. You don’t need any sound design experience to experiment with Chromaphone 3. The front panel lets you select the sound source and adjust various synthesis engine parameters like modulation, envelope, and timbre.

More experienced users can dig into Chromaphone’s advanced synthesis panel, which hosts dozens of tweakable parameters. This is where you can truly unleash the plugin’s synthesis power and use it to generate some truly unique sounds.

    I’ve used a demo version of Chomaphone 2 a long time ago and it sounded beautiful!
    Lately I’ve been learning how to code physical models myself, but it doesn’t come near the quality of AAS.
    Would love to have a copy of Chomaphone 3 to play with their amazing engine!

    AAS plugins are sounding nice, and they sometimes offer presets packs too !
    I wish they had cheaper upgrade plans for old customers tho ! Ultra Analog got a reskin, but not much else afaik
