Groove Magazine has released a set of 16 free samples created by the Detroit house music scene legend Mike Huckaby.
When we told Huckaby that his CD would be featured in an article about sample packs as part of the sound design special in our current issue, he offered to compile a collection of brand new samples and to make it available as a free download.
The samples are available for free download via Groove Magazine (51MB download size, contains 16 audio samples in AIFF format, with NI Maschine and Ableton Live mappings).
The pack includes 16 exclusive audio samples captured from various sources. Most samples come from different hardware synthesizers, but there’s also a live percussion loop, as well as typewriter sounds! You’ll find more info about each sample on the download page linked above.
Here’s an audio demo of one of Mike’s previous sample sets, just to give you the basic idea about the sort of samples he creates (you’ll find an official audio preview of the Groove Magazine freebie on the download page):
