Point Blank Online has released PB ModularSynth, a free (Facebook required!) modular synthesizer for Ableton Live based on the legendary EMS VCS3 modular synthesizer.

The Point Blank modular synth is based on the legendary EMS VCS3. The VCS3 was built in London in the late ’60s and there were a number of subsequent models of varying sizes.

PB ModularSynth is available for free download via Point Blank Online (41.2 kB download size, contains 1 instrument in AMXD format for Ableton Live).

The instrument emulates the workflow of the famous VCS3 analogue modular synthesizer by Electronic Music Studios (aka EMS). VCS3 was used by numerous iconic artists such as Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, etc.

PB ModularSynth basically re-creates the interface of the original instrument. It’s not meant to model the analogue circuitry inside the synthesizer.

Please note that both Ableton Live and Max for Live are required in order to use PB ModularSynth! Max for Live is included for free in the Suite version of Live 9.
