Puremagnetik has released Wicked Kits, a free drum kit library for Ableton Live 9 which has been designed with real-time performance in mind.
Wicked Kits includes 5 free Drum Kits optimized for Live 9 and programmed for real-time performance. It comes packed with a number samples from classic drum machines, synths and vinyl.
The drum library is available for immediate free download from the Puremagnetic website. There’s no need to register or jump through any hoops, simply hit the download button on the page linked below to get your free copy.
Although this drum kit collection was primarily designed for use with Ableton Live, you should still get it even if you use a different DAW. The sound design team at Puremagnetic has been awesome enough to also include individual drum one shots in WAV format. Simply extract the downloaded archive and open the Samples folder to get the WAV drum hits. These samples will work in virtually any digital audio workstation or sampler instrument out there.
The included drum samples are organized into five individual drum kits:

- Drty Brty
- Dope Loafa
- Kid Glitch
- Grinder Kit
I’ve browsed through most of the drum samples featured in the Wicked Kits collection and there’s some seriously good stuff in there. You should definitely grab these if you’re into hip hop production, electro, glitch, etc. The pack is full of great sounding noisy drums (processed with the SP-1200 sampler), vinyl drum hits, as well as some cool 8-bit effects and percussive sounds.
