Beijaflor Software Releases Free TAS-X Tremolo VST/AU Plugin

5

Beijaflor Software has introduced TAS-X, a freeware stereo tremolo effect in VST, VST3, and AU plugin formats for digital audio workstations on PC and Mac.

TAS-X is a lightweight tremolo effect optimized for a quick workflow. The plugin can modulate the volume of the processed audio signal in free mode or in sync with the host application’s BPM setting. Its most interesting feature is the ability to offset the modulation waveforms of the left and right audio channels, resulting in a pleasing sounding stereo tremolo effect. This works wonderfully for adding movement to lead sounds, as well as pads and background elements of a mix.

The plugin’s front panel features a waveform shape display at the top and two rows on control knobs right below it. The waveform display is a helpful visual guide for fine-tuning the shape and speed of the applied modulation. Using the Waveform and Smoothing controls, the user can set the waveform to various basic shapes such as the sine wave, triangle, and square. It is not possible to use different shapes for the left and right audio channels.

The controls are logically laid out and easy to use. The only two improvements I’d like to see here would be to have the Sync On/Off knob substituted with a button or a switch and to make the interface resizable. It is a bit too small on my current monitor which is just a regular HD panel.

The plugin can be downloaded completely free of charge from the product page on Beijaflor Software’s website which is linked below. A valid email address is required to receive the download link. TAS-X is compatible with all VST, VST3, and AU plugin hosts on Windows and MacOS. A standalone version of the effect is also provided in the download archive.

TAS-X is available for free download via Beijaflor Software (7.62 MB download size, ZIP archive containing EXE installer, 32-bit & 64-bit VST/VST3/AU plugin format for Windows & MacOS).

It’s free, why not just try it out for yourself? That’s what I’m doing right now as I also love Penchang Tremolo (as well as HY-tremolo)

  1. this is great, i love it! very nice and self explaining. less cpu-usage and cool visualisation helps to unterstand what it does. vst2 and vst3 support – fantastic.
didnt had much time to test, but this is def a keeper.
i tried the vst-versions, not the standalone.

  2. The stand alone version has loaded on my PC but the plug in is nowhere to be seen. Not recognized by Cubase. Can’t find the plug-in in any folder. Is there a plug in that works in DAWs?
