AXP has released CharBooster, a freeware guitar booster effect (based on tube and tape emulation models) in VST plugin format for Windows.
AXP has released a new free VST plug-in effect for Windows: CharBooster, a guitar booster effect, with a character. It allows to shape, overdrive and boost the guitar signal before hitting your favourite amplifier VST plug-in.
CharBooster is available for free download via AXP (380kB download size, 32-bit & 64-bit VST plugin format for Windows).
The plugin is designed for boosting the DI guitar signal before it hits the guitar amp sim input. It is based on 12AX7 tube and ATR-102 tape recorder emulated models.
AXP has released two more freeware plugins which may be useful for guitar players. Both of these are available on the download page linked above.
