Happy New Year dear readers! BPB is back from the Holidays and it’s time to fill the blanks. This article will list all the freebies which were released since our little break took place. Enjoy!

Livid Minitaur by Livid Instruments

Livid Instruments has released Livid Minitaur, a free Ableton Live pack featuring the sounds of the Moog Minitaur analogue synthesizer. A separate download containing raw WAV files is also available, which is great news for people who don’t own Live.

The samples were created by Harvey Taylor who has provided a nice collection of analogue bass and lead sounds, as well as a full Moog Minitaur drum kit! Take a look at the rest of Livid Instrument website for loads more free goodies in WAV format!

Livid Minitaur is available for free download via Livid Instruments (2.4 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 1 instrument in ALP format for Ableton Live, 24 audio samples in 24-bit WAV format).

Label Sampler 3 by Function Loops

Function Loops has released Label Sampler 3, a free collection of samples and loops selected from their latest commercial releases. It features 20 samples from each included sample collection, for a total of almost 600 MB of audio data. You’ll need to provide a working email address in order to download the freebie pack.

Label Sampler 3 is available for free download via Function Loops (498 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 159 audio samples and loops in 24-bit WAV format).

Cementite by OddIction

OddIction has released Cementite, a free sample pack featuring a collection of weird and glitchy sounds. Please note that the download is powered by the Pay with a Tweet system, which means that you’ll need to share the link on one of your social network accounts before getting the freebie.

Cementite is available for free download via OddIction (72 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 200 audio samples in 24-bit WAV format).

WrongMod by CodeAudio

CodeAudio has released WrongMod, a freeware AM/FM modulation effect in VST plugin format for Windows. The plugin can also be used as a simple ring modulator effect.

WrongMod is available for free download via CodeAudio (1.6 MB download size, ZIP archive, 32-bit VST plugin format for Windows, made with SynthEdit).

Vocal Hazard Pack by Volterock

Volterock has released Vocal Hazard Pack, a free sample pack featuring an unusual set of vocal samples. Unlike most vocal sample packs out there, this is a collection of aggressive and freaky sounds performed by various volunteering participants.

The pack features sounds of people yelling, screaming, falling, punching, and so on. Although it may seem too unusual at first, this is actually a great little vocal sample collection which can work great for all sorts of different purposes.

Energy 550 Kit by Desert Sound Studios

Desert Sound Studios has released Energy 550 Kit, a free collection of drum samples captured from the Boss DR-550 digital drum machine. Featuring all the drum sounds included in the original instrument, this free kit offers a great collection of classic late 80s electronic drum sounds. The samples were captured with a with a Fosurite ISA preamp and high quality RME converters.

Miscellania II by Versilian Studios

Versilian Studios has released Miscellania II: Bells and Chimes, a free virtual rompler for Windows and Mac featuring various metallic percussion instruments. The plugin features six octaves of chimes, bells, triangles, finger-cymbals, pots, pans, and other similar percussive sounds. And extra set of round robin tambourine samples is also included.

1Basic Kit by Beatassist

Beatassist has released 1Basic Kit, a free bundle featuring 14 simple virtual effects in VST plugin format for Windows. The bundle features a basic toolbox of audio effects, including a chorus, a vocoder, a filter, and several other simple effect types.

Free FRXS Drums by Wave Alchemy

Wave Alchemy has released Free FRXS Drums, a free collection of drum samples created with the Future Retro XS analogue synthesizer. The kit features a set of 65 high quality electronic drum samples. You’ll find a nice set of punchy kicks, noisy snares, and other great sounding electronic percussion sounds, standing up to Wave Alchemy quality standards.

Free FRXS Drums is available for free download via Hightail (3.9 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 65 drum samples in 24-bit WAV format).
