Free Harmonium Sample Library For Noiiz Player Released

6

Noiiz has released Harmonium, a freely downloadable sound library for the freeware Noiiz Player rompler virtual instrument in VST, AU, and AAX plugin formats for PC and Mac.

The free Harmonium expansion pack for Noiiz Player features the sounds of a standard harmonium instrument designed by Alexandre-François Debain. The harmonium is a keyboard instrument which sounds similar to the accordion. The team at Noiiz has sampled seven different harmonium presets, adding up to 900 MB of sample data in total. The samples were recorded at Livingston Studios and performed by organist and conductor Alexander Binns of St Edmundsbury Cathedral. The sampled presets are provided as separate files which are loaded into Noiiz Player via drag and drop.

The raw preset sounds can be shaped using Noiiz Player’s built-in ADSR volume envelope and the resonant low-pass filter. The user can also adjust the global tuning and pan, while also adding reverb and delay to the sound on the output. The filter module can be overdriven to saturate the signal. The presets were sampled across three octaves and then mapped across the entire MIDI keyboard range. The sound quality is decent and there aren’t any sampling/pitching artifacts to speak of.

For those unfamiliar with Noiiz Player, it is a freeware rompler designed for loading the free sample libraries released by Noiiz. You can grab it completely free of charge from their website. There are already plenty of free expansion packs available for it, featuring various instrument such as the mellotron, steel pans, marimbas, etc. Click here to see all the available Noiiz Player sample libraries. For a similar product by Spitfire Audio, check out their excellent LABS instrument (also freeware).

UPDATE: Please read this before continuing. It turns out that you can only download one Noiiz Player expansion of your choice for free. All additional downloads will require you to purchase a paid Noiiz subscription plan. Sorry for the confusion and thanks to our readers for pointing this out in the comments section below.

Harmonium is available for free download via Noiiz (909 MB download size, ZIP archive, compatible with Noiiz Player).

  1. Hello Tomislav. I just wanted to notice they don’t seem to be free at all actually. Only one instrument is allowed to download for free after creating a free membership account (which to be honest is very very limited). So after you have downloaded the one you choose you are only allowed to download the rest after upgrading to the yearly price pay membership (even the basic one only allows you to unlock one or a few, as it’s not clear, each month).

Anyway, thank you very much for your blog and the intention. :)

  2. Dart,
bpb should is aware of noiiz tactics… they should be aware that noiiz are misrepresenting these things.
Bottom Line: Harmonium Sample Library will cost you a minimum 0f $10 to pay for their download.

  3. As a Noiiz subscriber, I’m a bit puzzled as to why anyone thinks they are misrepresenting anything. Their website is very clear on pricing plans. I am finding it quite good value actually 😊
