Plugin Boutique offers the Carbon Electra (£39 value) virtual synthesizer as a free add-on with any purchase made before January 31st, 2021.

Carbon Electra is a four-oscillator subtractive synthesizer designed to sound modern while being easy to program. The plugin boasts analog-style oscillators and filters while adding carefully implemented saturation and compression for delivering the modern “overcompressed” sound.

The oscillator module packs numerous features, including pulse width modulation, frequency modulation, a noise generator with pitch shifting, oscillator unison, and more. Stack the four oscillators for a fat analog-like sound, or engage the unison mode for even thicker leads and bass presets.

Things get even more interesting in the filter section, which offers six different filter types. Alongside the standard low-pass and high-pass filters, you’ll find a vocal filter module for modern sound design. Also, the filters have a Filter Drive feature that delivers multiple types of analog-style saturation.

As for the modulation capabilities, Carbon Electra’s standout feature is the Step Sequencer module. It can trigger notes (turning your synthesizer in a virtual 303) or modulate various synth engine parameters like pitch, filter cutoff, volume, or even the oscillator waveform.

The last step in Carbon Electra’s signal chain is the built-in FX section. Enhance the raw synth sounds with various effects, including chorus, delay, distortion, phaser, and more. Each FX module comes with a range of parameters for fine-tuning and sound editing.

The synthesizer was built from the ground up to provide an intuitive workflow for beginner sound designers. That said, it also comes with a huge selection of presets if you want to jump right into music production. The presets were designed by best-selling artists like Carl Cox, Freemasons, and Kosheen. Additional expansion packs are available via Plugin Boutique.

Here’s how Plugin Boutique describes the Carbon Electra virtual synthesizer:

Yeah, pretty good! I’ll definitely recommend it to beginners. Easy to use and learn, yet plenty of synthesis power for the more experienced sound designer.

    • I got Venom too earlier, nice one that!

W.A. Production is based in United Arab Emirates, cant be many plugin developers from that country ?

      • The creators of the company actually come from Czech Republic. It’s just their offices that is in the UAE. And no, there’s not a lot of plugin developers from neither UAE or Czech Republic :D

  1. Just got The Orb and C.E – two very nice synths for just a price of two bottles of Coca Cola in Poland XD Nice :D
