Stagecraft Software Disarray Multi-FX Plugin Is FREE Until April 18th

15

Stagecraft Software offers the Disarray multi-effect VST plugin as a FREE download until April 18th, 2022.

Disarray is a multi-effect inspired by the legendary Kaoss Pad. It includes a variety of effects that you can combine and control using the provided XY pad.

There are many effects to choose from, including chorusing, a bitcrushing, reverb, ring modulation, flagging, gain, etc. But the built-in effects are just the tip of the iceberg since Disarray lets you load third-party plugins as effects.

I haven’t tested this functionality thoroughly, but the developer claims that Disarray can load any third-party plugin and use it in tandem with the pre-loaded effects.

The plugin also supports automation and presets. You can save your favorite FX combos as presets for later use.

Disarray is a capable sound design tool that delivers some fun FX combinations. Of course, its coolest feature is the XY pad which lets you control multiple FX parameters simultaneously.

However, I’m hoping that the user interface will be improved in a future update. The current version feels laggy, and I encountered a few graphical glitches in Studio One. For example, when I tried to resize the GUI by clicking and dragging the bottom-right corner, it decreased in size instead of getting larger.

Stagecraft Software offers the Disarray plugin as a freebie for a limited time only. Sign up now to claim a free plugin license (the free licenses are permanent).

To claim your free license, you’ll need to download and install the plugin on your computer. Launch the plugin, enter your email address, then click the Free Serial button to receive a serial number in your inbox. You can then use the serial key to activate the plugin.

Unfortunately, the download page looks somewhat confusing, with a large plugin screenshot in the background and grey-colored text in front. It’s a bit hard to read, but the download button is pretty easy to find.

I usually wouldn’t criticize a website for its design, but I’m writing this so that you don’t get discouraged by the poorly designed product page. Disarray is worth the download, even though the download page doesn’t look professional.

UPDATE: Stagecraft Software updated the Disarray product page and it looks a lot better now.

The free download offer ends on April 18th. There’s no official information about the pricing after the free offer expires.

Disarray is available in VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats for digital audio workstations on Windows and macOS. Only 64-bit plugin hosts are supported.

Download: Disarray (14.1 MB download size, EXE installer, FREE until April 18th, free licenses don’t expire)

Had the same issue with resize (on the corners or borders of the window, no matter which direction). However, if you manage to grab that little half cross hair in the bottom right corner it will resize without problems.
Still waiting on the license tho. But plenty of time to check it out since it comes with a 30 day free trial.

Not 100% sure, but looks like it can only load 3rd party vst3 plugins.

  2. no problems here with resizing the window, but my daw crashes everytime after some time trying the plugin.
it was crashing after doing different things each time, after 30 seconds to some minutes.
i am in pro tools on a mac.

    • just for your interest:

-i restarted the daw about 10 times now, it does not work for long, no matter what i do. i use my daw almost daily, usually without having any problems, so i can be quite sure that the plugin is causing some problem.

-i got the serial code of the plugin about 10 minutes after sending the registration request.

-it loads audio units as well (i tried au), not only vst (which i havent tried)

      • Hey MX – thanks for the note.

I haven’t tested very much on PT, so will try that today. I see the user below says it crashes a few other DAWs, but most of those I have tested without finding the crash (yet).

    • the developer already worked on the plugin and changed some things, it is working here now and seems to be a quite nice tool for modulation purposes.

All my DAWs crash (Live, FL, Bitwig, Mixcraft, Reason and Cakewalk) with the plugin and I couldn’t type my email in the request for the serial window. So sad.

  4. I’ve tried many times to get Stagecraft plugins to work and they’re all buggy as hell and essentially useless. It’s a shame really as some of their stuff seems fairly interesting on paper. Hard pass for me.

    • Hey Brenny, I would love to hear about whatever bugs you see. I’m a one man company so it does take alot of effort to keep it all up to the latest standards, but I think I do pretty well keeping them from having any major bugs.

  5. Thanks for all the comments!

It’s in pre-release in order to iron out any remaining issues, sounds like some of you have some serious crashes.

I haven’t been able to reproduce here yet, but trying on a few machines, feel free to send details if possible (aaron [at] stagecraftsoftware .com.

    Thanks!

Might not be much help, but crashes on me rather randomly when adding or deleting filters while running (Win7 Cubase 8 Artist). And it crashes so hard i have to kill the process in the task manager.

Good luck with finding that little bug tho! o7

  6. Hey all – tracked down crashing bugs on Windows (didn’t see any crashes on mac, though certainly the same issues could have happened there on some DAWS). Should be very crash free now, but please ping me if you see otherwise :)

  7. I have the same problem. When I open the plugin everything freezes. I can’t type in my email and I cannot even close the Daw. I have to turn down the Daw in the task manager. I have tried it several times with the same result.
