Ilya Efimov Production has released Zhaleika, a free NI Kontakt sample library featuring the sounds of an old Russian folklore instrument.
The Zhaleika (also known as bryolka) is a Russian single-reed hornpipe. Many consider it to be the most popular Russian folk wind instrument.
Zhaleika is available for free download via Ilya Efimov Production (82MB download size, contains 1 instrument in NKI format for NI Kontakt).
Zhaleika is an old wind instrument from Russia. It sounds very similar to bagpipes. You can hear it in action in the demo video which is embedded below (although the video is in Russian, it will give you the basic idea of how the instrument sounds).
Please note that you will need the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt in order to use this library without limitations. It will work for 20 minutes in the freeware Kontakt Player.
