Fairly Confusing Waveforms (aka Zombie the Hippie) has released Scratch the balloon, a free sample library (NI Kontakt mappings included!) consisting of balloon noises.
From a recording that I made seven years ago, a set of scratchy noises, that I produced by tearing a rubber party balloon with a wet finger.
Scratch the balloon is available for free download via Fairly Confusing Waveforms (3.1 MB download size, contains 32 audio samples in 16-bit WAV format).
The samples were created by scratching a simple party balloon. They’re a good addition to anyone’s collection of foley sounds, but some genious out there may even use them to create music.
Speaking of which, make sure you take a listen to the audio demo. I mean, who knew you could make an entire track using only a balloon. Someone give this man a guitar, right away!
The sample pack comes with 32 samples, but it also includes mappings for NI Kontakt (all versions since v2 are supported). You will need the full version of NI Kontakt in order to use these mappings for longer than 20 minutes.
