Loops de la Crème has announced the release of Delacrème One Shots, a huge collection of one shot samples which is offered as a free download (pay what you want) on their new website.
These 252 one-shot samples will hopefully turn into very familiar and helpful tools for your music productions. I created this freebie while working on the bundle LA TOTALE. The one-shots are organised in two folders: The first folder constitutes a practical and versatile selection of sounds from Loops de la Crème products. The second one features new, original samples created by mixing and layering raw samples together.
Delacrème One Shots is released on a pay what you want basis and there is no minimum required payment, which means that you can download the pack for free if you enter 0€ as the payment amount. If you’d like to support Loops de la Crème and their future sound design endeavors, the official suggested payment is between 2€ and 10€ although you are free to enter any other amount which you find appropriate.
Even if you grab these samples free of charge, they are steel completely royalty free. This is a very generous move by Julien Tauban (owner of LDLC), since there’s loads of great content inside the pack and it offers quite a bit more stuff than most taster packs out there. Here’s a quote from the ReadMe file which is included in the download pack, explaining how these samples can be used.
If you downloaded these one-shots for free, and use them a lot in your music, think about doing a small gesture to help Loops de la Crème. A post with a link in a forum, a small tweet, a post on Facebook, a comment on the product page (for example with a SoundCloud link to some tracks you made using the samples)… Such a small action on your part can be really helpful, and it will guarantee the release of new freebies in the future.
In conclusion, you are allowed to use these samples in non-commercial and commercial projects without payment of any further royalties or fees. If you like the sounds and find them useful, it would be a fair move on your part to support LDLC by making a donation as a thank you for their efforts.
Loops de la Crème has also released a much larger sample pack called LA TOTALE. It contains over 6 GB of audio material, gathered from all Loops de la Crème sample packs which were released in the last three years. The list price of LA TOTALE is €249, however it is available at a discounted price of €189 until the end of September 2014.
