Soundtoys LittleAlterboy Is FREE (Again) For A Limited Time!

Soundtoys have announced that the LittleAlterboy vocal transformation effect in VST/AU/AAX plugin formats is available for free download until November 30th, during their Black Friday sale.

This is not the first time that LittleAlterboy is being offered as a freebie on the Soundtoys website. The excellent little pitch shifter effect was released in March this year, during the SXSW conference (Soundtoys have a tradition of releasing free plugins during the event). After the promo period has ended, the price jumped to $99 and that price remained active until now. We’ve had several readers ask us via email if it was somehow still possible to download the plugin for free, but these deals are usually available for a very short while before they’re gone for good.

So, in case you’ve missed the original offer, you can now make up for it by visiting the Soundtoys website and grabbing your free copy of LittleAlterboy. To download the freebie, simply add the product to your shopping cart on the product page linked below and complete the free checkout procedure. In order to activate the plugin on your computer, you will need an iLok user ID (the USB dongle is not required). This also means that you’ll need to install the iLok License Manager on your machine, which is a bit of a bummer.

The plugin itself is a great little tool, as you can see and hear in the demo video below. Soundtoys is a company that was founded by a team of people who worked on the legendary Eventide H3000 hardware unit, so it makes sense that they would make an excellent virtual pitch shifter effect. LittleAlterboy works great for regular vocal treatment and auto-tune style effects, but it can also be used as a nice and subtle saturation effect since it includes the tube saturation model from Soundtoys Decapitator.
