TSE has released R47, a free VST/AU plugin which emulates the famous RAT guitar distortion pedal by Pro Co.
Here’s my new plugin, the R47. It’s modeled against a rodent pedal and hopefully accurate enough to call it a rat-emulation. Use it in front of an amp sim, or alone in front of a cabinet simulation.
R47 is available for free download via KVR Audio (2.1MB download size, 32-bit & 64-bit VST/AU plugin format for Windows and Mac OS X).
The plugin emulates “The RAT“, which is a legendary distortion pedal designed by Pro Co in the late 70s. The pedal was used by the like of David Gilmour, Jeff Beck and Kurt Cobain (among many other famous musicians).
TSE’s Tube Screamer emulation is my favorite stomp box plugin, so I’m quite eager to test the new offering. The reviews on KVR have been positive so far.
