False positive, don’t worry!
Dear readers, BPB has been flagged as a malware site by Google today. Thankfully, there’s absolutely no need to worry about the safety of your system and/or data!
This is just a false positive which was caused by the code provided by the Isocket ad server (which serves ads on BPB, among other more popular sites such as TechCrunch, Cult of Mac, etc).
On the less positive side, it will take some time before Google re-indexes BPB and removes the malware warning. I will wait until things are completely back to normal before posting the latest freeware news items. Hopefully, the site should be up and running as usual within a few hours.
Those of you who are interested in learning more about the whole story, read this coverage posted by The Next Web. Apparently, Isocket (the company which serves ads on Bedroom Producers Blog) has been falsely flagged as a malware distributor. Of course, this led to all the sites which were using their code also becoming flagged as malware sites.
Isocket’s website is detected as clean by Google at the moment, but it will still take some time before all other sites are re-indexed and marked as safe again. For example, TechCrunch and Cult of Mac are back to normal again, but some other sites (including BPB, unfortunately) will still have to wait some time.
So, once again, don’t worry. There’s no malware on BPB and your computer is absolutely safe. I’m doing everything I can to return things back to normal with Google and get the site up and running as usual. See you soon!

onI came across this while googling about a vst that I DL through your website. Since then my computer has had issues and I recently discovered my FL studio was jacked. I have concerns and would like to talk about it before I ream y’all’s good name over a misunderstanding tho I don’t know how else this would have happened. It was a brand new laptop and I have had many cpu spikes and poor performance since DL monstersax through you guys.. look forward to hearing back.
