dbox Samples has released Aid01 MC-808, a collection of free samples recorded from the Roland MC-808 Groovebox hardware instrument.

Aid01 MC-808 is a fundamental classic drum hit collection loaded with 1300+ Kicks, Snares, Hats, Claps, Toms, Hits & EFX from Roland most desired percussive sounds.

Aid01 MC-808 is available for free download via dbox Samples (254MB download size, contains 1387 individual samples in 24-bit WAV format).

You’ll need to register at dbox Samples in order to get the download link, however registration is completely free. Regarding the whole Facebook-ware debate, I prefer hitting that Like button than having to register at different websites over and over again. Oh, well…

The sample pack itself is pretty awesome. It comes with all 59 factory drum kits captured directly from the Roland MC-808, as well as some extra individual drum sounds and SFX. On top of that, Kontakt, SF2 (that’s right, SoundFont!), SFZ, EXS24, NN-XT and Battery mappings are also available.
