Desert Sound Studios has released Mk-III, an affordable Max for Live drum machine instrument with a built-in sequencer.
Welcome to the Mk-iii, a drum machine combining classic synthesizer design with modern music technology. Inspired by the digital drum machines of the late 80′s, the Mk-iii takes the concept of simple effectiveness and breathes new life into it.
Mk-III can be purchased for $23.99 via Desert Sound Studios (requires Max for Live).
It comes with 4 independent 16-step sequencer tracks (each one featuring full control over both the pattern start point and pattern length) and 4 sample playback engines with two audio samples per engine. The sequencer also features swing and step duration functionality, while the playback engine includes a filter, a bit-crusher, and a delay effect.
Please note that the Mk-III drum machine requires Ableton Live 9 Suite, or Ableton Live 8/9 with the Max for Live add-on.
