Double Trouble Audio Releases 3 GB Of Free C64 Drums & SFX

Double Trouble Audio has set free their Commodore 64 Percussion & FX sound library which was previously sold as a commercial product on their website.

Commodore 64 Percussion & FX contains 23,132 samples in total, all of which were sampled from a HardSID sound card which features a genuine SID chip (the legendary Commodore 64 sound chip known for its gritty sounding digital waveforms and analog filter). The amount of included drum hits and sound effects is almost overwhelming. For example, the library contains 90 different bass drums and 184 different snare hits.

Furthermore, each included sample is available in several different versions. Along with the 100% clean HardSID sounds, Double Trouble Audio has also provided a wide variety of tape and tube processed ones. There are plenty of different flavors to choose from for each sound, depending on whether you’re looking for raw SID sounds or something that’s a bit more polished and mix ready. Without a question, this is the single most in-depth collection of Commodore 64 drum hits and sound effects available on the market. And better yet, it can now be downloaded completely free of charge.

The download is completely free and open for everyone interested. No signup or registration is required. Simply hit the download link on the product page linked below and the (somewhat lengthy) download process will begin. The same page features a couple of other Doble Trouble Audio freebies as well, which are well worth checking out if you’re on a lookout for some high quality and unusual foley effects.

Commodore 64 Percussion & FX is available for free download via Double Trouble Audio (3 GB download size, ZIP archive, contains 23,132 audio samples in 24-bit WAV format).
