Wave Alchemy Celebrates 8th Birthday With FREE “Linndrum Tape”

In celebration of the company’s 8th birthday, Wave Alchemy has released Linndrum Tape, a free collection of tape processed Linndrum drum machine samples.

The pack contains 215 one shot samples in total, captured from the legendary LinnDrum LM-2 drum machine. All audio content is provided in 24-bit WAV format and is royalty free for use in free and commercial music projects.

The sounds were recorded to 1/2″ analogue tape through an Ampex ATR-102 tape machine, with different gain settings in order to provide several distortion flavors for each hit. Most of the recorded drum sounds are available in at least two versions, with different amounts of applied saturation. The tape saturation sounds especially nice on the snare hits, which are nicely rounded and slightly boosted in the lower end of the spectrum.

Wave Alchemy has done a fantastic job with these samples, crafting a superb drum sample library that every vintage drum machine aficionado should add to their collection.
