Free PanENV VST Plugin Released By SaschArt

SaschArt has released PanENV, a freeware pan envelope VST plugin for 32-bit and 64-bit digital audio workstations on Windows.

PanENV is a multi-functional stereo control utility, with several interesting tricks up its sleeve. Apart from the basic stereo panning functionality (controlled using the Pan Offset knob), it also features a Pan Width knob, a side signal volume control, and a really cool MIDI controlled envelope for adding stereo movement to the processed signal.

The envelope is a simple AHD affair (attack, hold, release), with five envelope shapes to choose form (basic linear envelope and four additional ones with snappier/rounder attack and decay curves). The envelope is triggered via MIDI, which is a great alternative for manually drawing pan automation in your digital audio workstation of choice. In regular SaschArt fashion, this freeware VST plugin is distributed as a simple ZIP archive containing the DLL files (hooray for that!) and is extremely well optimized for low CPU usage. Perhaps the only real drawback here is that the plugin won’t work on Mac OS based computers.

UPDATE: Even though 64-bit VST plugin format is listed on the product page, the download currently only includes the 32-bit VST plugin version of PanENV. Perhaps 64-bit will be included in a future update?

PanENV is available for free download via SaschArt (213 KB download size, ZIP archive, 32-bit & 64-bit VST plugin format for Windows).
