Francis Prève has relased SH-101 8-pack , a free collection of Roland SH-101 sounds for Ableton’s Simpler instrument.
After the success of last month’s “What Synth Should I Sample?” poll, I decided to do it again for the 12k milestone on my Facebook page. This time, you wanted me to sample my beloved vintage Roland SH-101.
SH-101 8-pack is available for free download via Francis Prève’s website (4.6MB download size, contains 8 patches in total, 8 samples in 24-bit WAV format).
Ableton Live is required to use the Simpler presets, but you can choose to extract the WAV samples if you want to use them in another sampler (outside Ableton Live). To do so, follow the Samples >> Imported path from the root folder.
The pack contains 8 different presets for Simpler, capturing several classic SH-101 settings like the PWM lead sound, resonant lead, and so on. For more free sounds by Francis, check out his previously released DSI Prophet 08 pack for Ableton Live.
