French developer boscomac has released The Cornet, a free gramophone emulator for Native Instruments Reaktor.
THE CORNET is an effect that simulates an old gramophone. Tuck any source in the horn and you’re plunged back a century.
The Cornet is available for free download via boscomac’s website (1.06MB download size, 4.6MB size on disk, Reaktor ensemble format).
This effect emulates the sound of vintage record players. It is possible to choose between three different materials (aluminum, tin and zinc) as well as to modify the sound using the Tone, Quality and Amplifier knobs.
Unfortunately, I can’t test if the ensemble will work in Reaktor Player (free version of NI Reaktor) since I don’t currently have it installed on my computer. Please report if you’ve tested The Cornet in Reaktor Player!

I tested it on Reaktor Player (free version) and it worked nicely, although it runs in Demo mode (30 mins) just as any non-factory selection instrument/effect. (see reaktor official page for more information). But you can reinitialize to start the demo mode again, only thing is you won’t be able to save parameters (nothing you can’t save via printscreen or even with MIDI cc, depending on your DAW).
I must say i’m impressed, all this guy’s stuff is awesome!
