Hideaway Studio has released Zero-1, a Native Instruments Kontakt library based on the Yamaha CS01 analogue synthesizer.
Zero-1 is in essence a single oscillator virtual analog synthesizer (VA) loosely based on the CS01 monosynth which was released in 1982 as an affordable entry into the world of analog synthesis.
Zero-1 is priced at £5 in the Hideaway Studio Online Shop (60MB size on disk, 50 oscillator samples in 24-bit WAV format, 40 NKI instruments, 10 multi patches).
The sound library uses sampled Yamaha CS01 waveforms, processed with a tube overdrive and the legendary Watkins Copicat tape delay. Adding to the uniqueness of this library is the ability to morph between Yamaha CS01 mkI and mkII filter emulation!
I haven’t tested the library myself, but I’m familiar with Hideaway Studio’s previous work and for the price of £5 this is definitely a steal! If you’re looking for more fantastic analogue sounds for your Kontakt 4, take a look at The Orbitone Collection or the completely free Hideaway Studio Archive.
