Nick Dwyer (aka Whitebox Synth Makers) has released Mellotronica PACK, a free Ableton Live intrument created with Max for Live.
Simpler is loaded with Ableton’s Limette sample then given an unpredictable Filter frequency, Spread, Glide Time, Filter Resonance and Loop Start with Max’s Device Randomiser. Further processed with Beat Repeat (requires transport ON) and Simple Delay this is an intriguing if rather demanding sound creator.
Mellotronica PACK is available for free download via Whitebox Synth Makers (3.16MB download size, contains 1 instrument in ALP format for Ableton Live).
The instrument requires Max for Live, which is distributed with the latest Ableton Live 9 Suite.
