Krakli has released a public beta version of Kaskade, a free virtual synthesizer in VSTi plugin format for Windows.
I have not been able to take Kaskade much further and I am also aware that it may struggle to run on some DAWs so I thought it best to release Kaskade as a Public Beta to see if it was worth pursuing as a project. So here it is Fully functioning and without limitations.
The public beta version of Kaskade is available for free download via Krakli Software (3.5 MB dowload size, ZIP archive, 32-bit VSTi plugin format for Windows, made with SynthEdit).
Kaskade is somewhat of a monster synthesizer, definitely not for the fain of heart! It features a set of 8 polyphonic subtractive synthesizers, each with a built-in step sequencer. The individual synthesizers are triggered by user assigned MIDI notes. The MIDI triggers and step sequencers can also control filter cutoff, FM and sync sweep on each individual synth engine.
Being that Kaskade is such a complicated instrument, Krakli Software has also provided a detailed manual in PDF format. It is available for download on the product page linked above.
Please note that this is a beta version of Kaskade. According to Krakli Software, it may not work in some hosts. Make sure that the instrument works on your machine before using it in any important projects!
