BPB Analog Kicks (Free Sample Pack)

Bedroom Producers Blog is proud to release BPB Analog Kicks, a free sample pack containing 200 kick drums from six different analog instruments.

BPB Analog Kicks contains 200 kick drums that were sampled from the following six analog synthesizers and drum machines:

  • Moog Minitaur;
  • Vermona Kick Lancet;
  • Arturia DrumBrute;
  • Arturia DrumBrute Impact;
  • Drumcomputer MFB-522;
  • Korg Volca Kick.

The sounds were sampled through the Soundcraft Signature 12MT mixer. In addition to the kick drum samples, the library also includes a set of sounds with extra-long decay that can be used as bass sounds or 808-like kicks.

I tried to cover the entire sonic range of each sampled instrument. You’ll find some classic analog-style kicks, as well as some totally quirky sounds that can also work as percussion or sound effects.

My favorite part of the library is the collection of Moog Minitaur kicks. This budget-friendly analog synthesizer from Moog is capable of some seriously fat bass sounds, but it works incredibly well for kicks, too.

Another surprise was the MFB-522 drum machine. It packs a lot of punch in such a small form factor. The MFB-522 is also the cleanest-sounding instrument, and it delivers some super beefy 808-style kick drums.

All samples are provided in 24-bit WAV format without any additional processing. The included samples have 3dB of extra headroom so that you can apply additional effects and processing like compression, EQ, or saturation.

The download also includes a free Kontakt 5 patch with various effects and ADSR envelope adjustments. Use the included Kontakt instrument to add a bit of distortion or saturation to the kick samples.
