Arturia Tape Mello-Fi Is FREE With Any Purchase @ ADSR Sounds

ADSR Sounds offer the Tape Mello-Fi ($99 list price) virtual instrument by Arturia as a FREE add-on with any purchase in June.

Tape Mello-Fi is a vintage tape emulator by Arturia. It was released as a limited-time freebie in December last year. The price was bumped up to $99 once the freebie offer had expired.

If you missed last year’s deal, here’s your second chance to get Tape Mello-Fi completely free of charge.

Tape Mello-Fi as a free bonus item with any purchase at ADSR Sounds this month. Simply buy any other product, and Tape Mello-Fi will be included in your purchase for free.

It’s worth noting that the offer isn’t valid for free orders (you have to spend at least some money to get the free add-on).

“Tape MELLO-FI is an easy-to-use plugin that brings instant atmosphere and vintage tape-aged warmth in a few clicks. The plug allows users to add sublime lo-fi vibes over drum loops, vocals, mix bus, and anything in between. Tape MELLO-FI’s sound and behavior are inspired by Mellotron V, our software recreation of the legendary Mellotron instrument.”

Tape Mello-Fi is well worth a look if you’re looking for a tape plugin that simulates all the imperfections of analog tape recorders (noise and wobbly pitch included).

Unlike some other tape sims on the market (such as the ones from Softube and Variety of Sound), Arturia’s plugin doesn’t shy away from the lo-fi aspects of analog tape. Instead, it lets you go crazy with flutter and wobble, so much so that your DAW will sound like a broken tape machine.

On the other hand, you can bypass all the lo-fi simulation features and only keep the tape saturation and dynamics. The possibilities are there, and the end result largely depends on your production style and your obsession with lo-fi tape recordings (or lack thereof).

The user interface is organized into Preamp and Tape stages. The Preamp section lets you adjust the Drive, Tone, and Noise parameters. The Tape section is where you’ll find the Wow, Flutter, Wear, and Mechanics controls. Additionally, you can use the included LP/HP filter to clean up the audio if needed.

Tape Mellow-Fi is available in VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats for digital audio workstations on Windows and macOS. Only 64-bit plugin hosts are supported.
