boscomac has released The Howler, a somewhat unusual freeware virtual synthesizer in Native Instruments Reaktor ensemble format.
THE HOWLER is a synthesizer that screams through distortion, filter and Larsen. It gets loud sounds, incisive, powerful and massive. Its approach is modern et live-oriented.
The Howler is available for free download via boscomac’s website (212kB download size, contains 1 instrument in ENS format for NI Reaktor).
The instrument features four main controls, each controllable by the modulation wheel and velocity. It’s easy to map any (or all) of these controls to the mod wheel, making The Howler a potentially powerful performance-oriented instrument.
You’ll need the full version of NI Reaktor in order to use The Howler without any limitations. It will work for 20 minutes in the freeware Reaktor Player.
