Hideaway Studio has released Tape Dreams, a collection of sounds for NI Kontakt 4 and the latest addition to The Blue Zone series of affordable sample libraries.

Tape Dreams is a double offering with a common theme… Armed with a gorgeous 1967 Revox G36 all tube half track which I fixed up last year and a Watkins Copicat which I totally rebuilt from a wreck I set about trying out two concepts.

Tape Dreams is can be purchased for £1.50 in the Hideaway Studio Online Shop (38MB dowload size, contains 2 instruments in NKI format for NI Kontakt 4).

This is actually a collection of two Kontakt instruments, called Wave Reversal and Twisted tape. One features a PWM wave from the Yamaha CS01 processed with the Watkins Copicat tape delay (get a freeware emulation of that one at GSi), while the other one is based on samples processed with a Revox tape recorder (the samples were first recorded at 7.5 IPS and then reversed and played backwards at 3.25 IPS).
