Matt Bowdler (aka The Unfinished) has released a set of 15 free patches from his latest Omnisphere Horizon III sound bank for Omnisphere.
Omnisphere Horizon III continues the Horizon series with 128 more patches aimed at dark and light cinematic underscore.
The taster pack is available for free download via The Unfinished (68.1 kB download size, ZIP archive, contains 15 presets in OMN format for Omnisphere).
The full version of Omnisphere Horizon III is priced at £19.99 in The Unfinished online shop. It contains 128 original high quality patches for the Omnisphere virtual synthesizer.
The included sounds are designed for use in dark and light cinematic tracks. They include basses, leads, atmospheres, arpeggios, and SFX. Each included preset can be morphed in interesting ways using the mod wheel.
As stated by Matt Bowdler, some of the sounds are inspired by modern video game soundtracks, especially the works of Michael McCann and Jesper Kyd. I’m sure that most of these sounds would also fit perfectly as background elements in modern electronic music.
Omnisphere is an extremely powerful virtual synthesizer which can be purchased for $499 via Spectrasonics. It is a sound designer’s wet dream, offering an incredible mix of hybrid synthesis and unique control capabilities.
