Get Reason 7 for FREE!

The last giveaway this October (thanks to Dmitry Sches for sponsoring the previous one!) comes from Propellerhead Software. This Halloween, one lucky BPB reader is getting a Reason 7 license for free!

Reason – the legendary music production software studio. From start to finish, its ever-expandable, freely routable rack of instruments, effects and sounds has everything you need to write, record, remix and produce great-sounding tracks.

Reason 7 is a complete audio recording and music production studio, packed up in a powerful and stable software package. It comes with an impressive collection of virtual instruments, effects, audio samples and loops which cover all aspects of the music creation process.

One of the most impressive features of Reason 7 when compared to other DAWs is its freely routable rack (accessed using the TAB keyboard button). All the instruments and effects loaded in Reason 7 can be patched up together, just like in a real studio. This opens up endless possibilities for modulation, sound processing and all sorts of audio experimentation.

Synthesizer aficionados will enjoy the broad arsenal of virtual instruments included in Reason 7. The SubtractorMalström and Thor virtual synthesizers cover a broad range of synthesis styles, and those who are looking for more synth power can further expand their arsenal by purchasing a product of choice in the Rack Extension shop.

The same goes for effects which come boxed with Reason 7. They cover most of the tools you’d need for music production and mastering, including equalization, compression, limiting, saturation, distortion, pitch correction, vocoding, reverb, delay, phasing, etc. If the bundled effects suite isn’t enough, this aspect of Reason 7 can also be upgraded with the use of Rack Extensions.

Hardware synthesizer owners can control their real world instruments right from the MIDI sequencer and capture their sound using the built-in device named External MIDI Instrument.

Another great thing about Reason 7 is the mixing console which is modeled after the famous SSL 9000k analog mixing desk. The mixing console offers flexible routing, EQ and dynamics control, and a fantastic bus compressor on the Master output which can be used to glue the mix together. Another great aspect of the Reason 7 mixer is the Spectrum EQ, a parametric equalizer with a built-in spectrum analyzer which can be used to visually identify the problematic frequencies.

There’s loads of other amazing features to discover in Reason 7, and if I had to pick only one piece of software for creating my music it would definitely be my #1 choice. No other DAW out there offers such an amazing set of tools right out of the box, which in combination with the streamlined workflow, outstanding stability, expandability and ease of use puts Reason 7 among the top contending digital audio workstations on the market.

And this is your chance to get Reason 7 for FREE!
