Canada based producer Zanski (aka AceFazer) has released Super Snares, a small but good sounding collection of snare samples aimed at glitch hop production.
Here’s a sample pack of snares I made that are Lemaitre/Madeon styled. Theyre all super wicked snares and work perfectly in that french-ish genre, or glitch hop, or whatever. Cheers.
The pack contains six snare one shots in total. Although that’s not too many snare samples, they sound pretty good indeed and they’ll work well in a variety of dance music genres, from glitch hop to dubstep and electro.
The included samples are based on factory Roland TR-505 and Roland TR-707 snare sounds which have been layered with clap samples. The clap samples have been trimmed to remove the tails completely.
These layered sounds have been processed with multiple compressors, adding punch and body to the snare hits. The results sound pretty good, right on par with standard white noise snares which we often hear in modern EDM tracks. While this isn’t the biggest snare collection you can get for free, you should definitely grab it if you’re looking to expand your drum sample arsenal with modern sounding snare one shots.
There aren’t any official audio demo tracks available, however I’ve embedded one of Zanski’s tracks below to give you an idea of what kind of sounds you’ll find in the download. The track featured below features similar snare hits to the ones found in the Super Snares pack.
