Wobblophones Releases Free Chaotics Reaktor Blocks

Wobblophones has announced the release of Chaotics, a set of three freely downloadable chaotic synthesizers designed for use with the new Reaktor Blocks format.

The free Chaotics bundle features three chaos based synthesizers: Feedback Sine, Tinkerbell Sin and De Jong Chaos. All three synths feature fairly similar control layouts and a nice looking orange/yellow color scheme. They also sound quite similar to one another, with subtle sonic differences mainly in terms of pitch and timbre.

Truth be told, I’ve never been a fan of chaos based instruments, noise machines and such, which is why I’m not the right person to tell whether these are any good or not. They’re definitely not my cup of tea, but there’s little doubt that those of you who love experimenting with such instruments will find them useful. Based on my quick test, Chaotics are well made, bug free virtual instruments which interface quite well with other Reaktor Blocks.

For those unfamiliar, Reaktor Blocks is the new concept in Reaktor which allows the users to patch multiple complex modules together, much like in a hardware modular synthesizer. Native Instruments are offering a cool little freebie called Blocks Wired (containing three free Blocks) which you can download from their website and use in the freeware Reaktor Player.

Chaotics are available for free download via Wobblophones (3.72 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 3 instruments in ISM format for Reaktor Blocks).
