Philipp Bulling (aka phi-L Audio) has released a 64-bit version of Tube Preamp, a freeware amplifier VST plugin for Windows.
I want to present my latest work, which is part of my final thesis. I wrote this thesis in cooperation with db audiotechnik GmbH. The goal was to implement a tube preamp on a SHARC DSP.
Tube Preamp is available for free download via Philipp Bulling’s website (4.15MB download size, 32-bit & 64-bit VST plugin format for Windows).
The most unique feature of Tube Preamp is that it allows the user to adjust the values of various circuit board elements. Not a big deal for someone like me, but definitely interesting for people who know a thing or two about electronics.
The plugin was originally released in July 2012, but the dev has now also released a 64-bit version of it. I’ve read some pretty good reviews about this on KVR, give it a go if you’re looking for a nice tube preamp emulation.
