Ohm Force has finally released Ohm Studio, a free (with optional upgrades) digital audio workstation which is developed for easy online collaborations!

Ohm Studio is the first real-time collaborative digital audio workstation. Start a project, invite musicians and make music together. It’s as simple as that.

Ohm Studio is available for free download via Ohm Force (83.9 MB download size, EXE installer, standalone application for Windows & Mac).

The basic free version of Ohm Studio comes with a basic production suite, it includes the Frohmage filter effect, two freeware 3rd party effects (Old Skool Verb by Voxengo and HyBrit by LePou) and an exclusive 1.5 GB sound library by UVI.

This version is basically fully functional, except that it can only record in 16-bit and can’t export high quality audio. It can host VST plugins and supports up to 10 online projects.

The basic version of Ohm Studio can be expanded to Ohm Studio Pro which costs 39€ and Ohm Studio Pro XL which costs 99€ and includes a premium set of Ohm Force plugins and some neat extras (the fabulous Oddity synthesizer by GForce Software). Find more info about the different versions of Ohm Studio in the Ohm Studio Shop.

I’ve been following this project ever since the rumors about Ohm Studio first began. It is a great idea and I can’t wait to give it a proper test. I often make music with friends and this DAW might make it easier to collaborate when the schedule is tight.

Drop a comment and let me know what you think about Ohm Studio and how it fits your workflow! I’ll be giving it a proper test this weekend. Can’t wait!
