Sugar Audio Releases Filterizor Q Equalizer Plugin (Free & Pro)

Sugar Audio has announced the release of Filterizor Q, an advanced multi-channel equalizer VST/VST3/AU/AAX plugin offered in Free ($0) and Pro ($64.95) versions.

The Pro version of Filterizor Q comes with a myriad of advanced features that should make the tedious everyday mixing tasks more manageable. For starters, it includes a powerful 2D/3D spectrum analyzer based on Sugar Audio’s previously released Oscarizor plugin. It is possible to analyze up to 10 channels simultaneously, and thus identify clashing frequencies more efficiently. Filterizor Q Pro also offers a choice between eight filter types per band (high-pass, low-pass, band-pass, notch-pass, high shelf, low shelf, weighted, band) and up to 100 active bands per plugin instance. The most useful feature, though, is the ability to link multiple EQ bands across different instances of the plugin, making it extremely easy to perform complementary EQ adjustments.

On the other hand, the free version of Filterizor Q doesn’t support multi-channel analysis or linking. It offers only three filter types per band and only two bands per plugin instance. Only the zero-latency processing mode is supported. Also, the spectrum analyzer can only operate in 2D mode in Filterizor Q Free. That said, the free version of Filterizor Q is still a useful tool, especially for the price. There aren’t many freeware equalizers with a built-in spectrum analyzer out there, which is enough of a reason to give the free version a try.

Both versions of Filterizor Q feature a freely resizable user interface with a fully customizable color scheme. The control layout adjusts automatically as the GUI is resized. This is great news for users with high-resolution screens or dual monitor setups.

Filterizor Q Pro is currently on sale for $64.95 (instead of the regular $79.95) during the launch offer. The free version can be downloaded directly from the product page linked below, no signup or activation required.

Filterizor Q Free is available for free download via Sugar Audio (2.86 MB download size, ZIP archive, 32-bit & 64-bit VST/VST3/AU/AAX plugin format for Windows & Mac OS).

  1. Does anyone know how this compares to TDR Nova EQ? That’s a free EQ that has a spectrum analyzer. Just wondering if it’s worth it to download yet another EQ?

  2. The spectrum in this is very nice, but the 2 bands that come with the free version are nothing special. It’s a bummer that one can’t check out the 3D view, steeper slopes, band linking, etc. I wonder why the dev didn’t just include those features in the free version… otherwise we can’t really know how well they work.

  3. I have the pro version now for a week I couldn’t be happier .this makes mixing a hole lot easier .but keep in mind a steep learning for this one
