T-RackS Quad Compressor multi-band compressor effect is offered as a free download for everyone who subscribes to IK Multimedia’s mailing list until February 14th, 2018.
IK Multimedia has announced that the T-RackS Quad Compressor plugin can be downloaded completely free of charge by anyone who joins the company’s mailing list. No additional purchase is necessary in order to obtain the download link. Both the existing and newly subscribed users will be able to use the effect in the freely downloadable T-RackS Custom Shop plugin.

The plugin’s audio processing engine features four optical compressor modules, each one targeting a separate, user-definable frequency band. The target frequency range for each module is defined using variable slope filters which sound transparent and musical while avoiding phasing issues at higher slope settings.
Multi-band compressors like the T-RackS Quad Compressor are often used on the master bus for balancing the overall frequency response of the song. However, they can also be used for processing individual audio tracks with more complex sound sources such as acoustic drum kits, layered vocals, and more. When an audio source contains a highly dynamic element in a specific frequency range, that’s when a multi-band compressor will do the trick of leveling out the dynamics without affecting the rest of the signal.

Please note that you will need to install the freeware T-RackS Custom Shop plugin which is a hefty 1.1 GB download. Once installed, launch the Custom Shop plugin and press the “Restore My Gear” button to activate T-RackS Quad Compressor. You will also need to install the IK Multimedia Authorization Manager or update your existing installation to the latest version.
