To enter the giveaway, you should download the free pack (linked below), evaluate the sounds, and post a comment on this article at Function Loops about which vocal loop is your favorite and why.

Function Loops will randomly draw three comments, and each will get a free copy of the upcoming ‘Sound Designers 2022’ collection.

The freebie is a 16 MB download and it contains eight vocal loops in WAV format.

  1. I record & sequence everything from scratch. I HATE working with premade loops. But I have been playing piano my entire life & in my music producer group, I am an outlier. I recognize that not every producer is a traditional musician & everyone’s approach/workflow is different.

    • Sometimes you find a specific vocal sample that fits the style you’re going for more than your own voice though. It’s one thing to just take the sample and drop it on, in which case I’d agree with your view since your track will be the same as anyone else’s who does it that way, but chopping and mangling the sample, or using little snippets is where the creativity comes in. And even then at the end of the day, all people care about is if your track sounds cool, so I can understand the fun in the process of recording from scratch, but it shouldn’t really be tied to merit or anything.
