DrumVault Is A FREE Drum Virtual Instrument By Function Loops

Function Loops offers the DRUMVAULT drum virtual instrument plugin as a FREE download for a limited time.

DrumVault is a drum VST that has been released by Function Loops. It is currently available for free in celebration of Function Loops’ 11th birthday.

There are 52 kits included in DrumVault, with a total of 416 samples to play with. Function Loops and their design team have packed this VST full of diverse sounds and have handily grouped the presets by genre, so you don’t have to spend too much time menu-diving. Genres include EDM, Pop, Reggaeton, RnB, and Synthwave.

DrumVault has an intuitive and user-friendly interface and shouldn’t be difficult to use, even for beginner music producers. The drum machine replicates a launch pad setup with eight ‘pads’ to trigger sounds.

There are various triggers included that are not strictly percussion instruments, such as keys, synths, bass, vocals, and other instruments sampled from an array of musical types and genres.

As well as pads to trigger the sounds, there are a few master controls, including volume, filter, and reverb. There are also controls for each individual sound: pan, attack, and tune. Again, these are very intuitive and shouldn’t be too difficult to understand, even for those unfamiliar with Drum VSTs.

There is a lot included in this VST, and the array of samples will be inspiring to any producer wanting to establish a sound palette quickly. This VST will be especially handy for producers who want to get into a genre but don’t know what sounds to use – (producers wanting to get into Reggaeton, for example, will have a good base set of sounds to begin creating with here).

All of the samples included in the DrumVault are 100% royalty-free, so users won’t have to worry about using an included melody/vocal sample and facing copyright issues.

One thing which holds this VST back is the limited controls available to alter the sounds. Producers who enjoy creating unique sounds with in-depth customization will miss those features here. However, producers should grab this VST whilst it’s free, it will no doubt come in useful.
