Auburn Sounds released the Graillon 3 enhanced vocal pitch correction tool on Tuesday, accompanied by a free version.
Graillon 3 is a Windows, macOS, and Linux release available in VST2, VST3, AAX, AU, and LV2 formats.
On the product page, you can choose between downloading the free version or the full version, with the latter being available at an introductory price of $29, down from a list price of $38.67.
Graillon 3 offers a pitch shifter and formant shifting and supports both hard-tune and natural sounds.
The plugin also includes the following effects: compressor, gate, preamp, chorus, and bitcrusher.
All the effects are tuned for vocals and do not add latency to the signal.
The aim of the expanded effects lineup is to help users produce professional vocals in an integrated and straightforward way.
The plugin has three pitch engines: the Graillon 2 engine, an updated Graillon 3 engine, and the I1 engine.
The I1 engine is the pitch engine from Auburn Sounds’ Inner Pitch plugin but retuned specifically for vocals.
The I1 engine has a different tone, with more preservation of the bass and a more reverberant sound. It is also more CPU-intensive to run.
If you choose to buy the paid version, you also get the benefits of pitch-tracking modulation, a vocal doubler, and the ability to step outside equal temperament.
The latter feature allows you to tune each note by -100 to +100 cents. According to the developer, it was the most user-requested feature.
New features for the free version of Graillon 3 include an expanded effects lineup, enhanced pitch detection and pitch shifting, formant shifting, and improved internal latency.
If you want to hear Graillon 3 in action, Auburn Sounds hosts several audio demos on the product page, as well as a rather bizarre animated YouTube introduction video.
Auburn Sounds dropped Graillon 1 in 2015 and followed it up with Graillon 2 in 2017. They’ve continued to expand the feature set with each version, leading up to the shiny brand-new Graillon 3.
When I went to download the free version, I could access the installation ZIP file with a single click. Big props to Auburn Sounds for this very simple download process!
The paid version, meanwhile, can be picked up with either PayPal or a card.

onIs it free? It looks like you need to buy a sound pack to be able to use it. At least that’s what it’s showing me when I installed it just now.

onAuburn Sounds is an underappreciated developer. It’s cool that they offer free versions of all their software. Graillon is a modern classic!
