BPA Releases Free Bob Perry Listener Monitoring VST/AU Plugin

Bob Perry Audio has released Bob Perry Listener, a freeware monitoring utility in VST/VST3/AU plugin formats for PC and Mac.

Bob Perry Listener is one of those simple but useful utility plugins that extend the basic channel strip functionality provided by the digital audio workstation. It features four buttons and a stereo peak meter in a streamlined and well-designed user interface. The user can solo the mid and side channels in mono, invert the left and right stereo channels, as well as mute and phase invert each stereo channel individually. Some of the buttons can be combined, such as the phase flip and mute buttons, although it’s not possible to monitor the mid and side channels in mono simultaneously (as in convert the entire mix to mono).

The interface is intuitive and easy to use, which only makes sense for such a simple utility. The GUI is large enough to see the controls clearly even on higher-resolution screens. Speaking of which, Bob Perry Listener supports Retina Display on macOS. Obviously, there’s almost no CPU hit to speak of so you can feel free to use multiple instances of the plugin in your project if required.

Bob Perry Listener is completely free to download from the developer’s website, although it does come bundled with four demo plugins and another freeware plugin (the previously featured Bob Perry Gate). The plugins (both the free and the demo ones) will be installed in the same folder and it isn’t possible to choose which one to install initially. Uninstalling the plugins you don’t want to keep is as easy as deleting them from the installation folder, though.

Bob Perry Listener is available for free download via Bob Perry Audio (11.1 MB download size, ZIP archive, 32-bit & 64-bit VST/VST3/AU plugin format for Windows & macOS).
