Hidden Sound offers Wind Through Metal Gates; a creative new sample pack.
Never before has a title summed up what a sample pack is better than Wind Through Metal Gates. It’s not a metaphor for anything else; what you hear is the sound of the wind interacting with various metal gates.
The interesting thing about the sound is that it’s not something that would typically stop you in your tracks. On most occasions, we’d walk on by without a second thought.
Hidden Sound has captured the sound that gets lost beneath the wind and everything else nature has to offer (the hidden sound, of course).
The always-evolving sounds mirror the unpredictable nature of the wind. It sometimes sounds like comforting rainfall; other times, it can sound like a cargo train passing in the distance. Depending on the strength of the wind, you can have something soothing, something erratic, or something very rhythmic.
I’m sure there are times when it just sounds like a metal gate, too.
This freebie is a Rekkard exclusive, and it’s a teaser of what’s to come in the full release.
The free download includes four samples (96kHz/24bit WAV) up to 2.45 minutes in length. These samples come from small, medium, and large gates during calm, medium, and strong winds.
The full release will feature 77 looped files providing a combined length of two hours and 36 minutes.
All samples were recorded in the remote countryside of Iceland, which looks incredibly beautiful, I have to say. The sounds were captured using Stille and Klang contact microphones and the LOM Geofan.
