Audio Plugin Deals offers the MixBox effects suite by IK Multimedia for $29.99 for a limited time.
Channel strips have a special place in my heart. They’re a grab bag of fun-sized candy bars with enough handy processors to make your music-mixing process more fun.
I typically stick with my old standbys in the SSL Channel Strip from the company itself or PSP Audio’s wonderful Infinistrip. However, this recent sale notice made me dust off MixBox and give it an earnest try on a mix.
MixBox is similar to Slate’s Virtual Mix Rack, Infinistrip, or any number of 500 series pastiches. You’ve got eight slots, which can contain anything you want out of the dozens of effects bundled inside.
The saturation is superb, with Cassette being a bit heavy-handed but perfect for flawed and dusty drums. Phonograph is also wonderful on strings, pads, and clean guitars.
Saturator-X is a special breed of general-purpose saturation that sounds great on any source.
I’m fond of the dynamics section, as it is a who’s who of your typical compressors. You’ve got FET, Opto, Varimu, and classic VCA compression on tap with the requisite controls and granularity you’d expect of a dedicated compressor plugin.
The EQs are also a treat, with passive, SSL-inspired, and API’s proportional Q available, among others. MixBox does take a bit of tweaking to get it where it needs to go.
What I love about the SSL strip is how compact it is and how little guessing is needed to dial in the dynamics on a particular part.
However, I was able to adapt to MixBox’s workflow and will likely be integrating it into more projects thanks to the pleasing saturation and dynamics choices.
Thanks to AudioPlugin Deals, you can snag it for a limited time at the princely price of $29.99. The sale lasts until the 27th of September, so you’ve got a bit of time to hem and haw before justifying the purchase.
MixBox is available for Windows and Mac computers. Supported plugin formats are VST, VST3, AU, and AAX. It is Apple Silicon compatible, which is always great to see.
It is definitely worth a look if you’re looking for a channel strip that couples creative effects, amp sims, and more robust mixing effects into a single tidy package. Also, the fact that you don’t have to install all of the T-Racks suite at once is just an added bonus.

onHi, I took advantage of this $29.99 deal on IK Multimedia’s MixBox and went through the proper procedures as explained. I only got the limited free CS version. I thought I’d start with BPB to see if the problem’s at this end before contacting IK. Thanks.

onDisregard my previous message. I see the deal is with Audio Plugin Deals, not you. You were just pointing me there.
Easy
onIt was weird there’s no demo of this. The free version mixbox CS was the demo. If you have the CS like I did the buying was simple. Just the serial number and that’s it. No more downloading. This is great plugin. only down side is the blurry graphics. I can see everything but it’s quite bad if you compare anything. I like that there is a dry-wet knob in every effect slot. There are all the effect you need. Bye bye BPB. Im fine now.

onEverything’s legit?
Easy
onYeah it’s a kind of too good to be true but it’s totally legit. I bought it and everything was simple. Grab it while you can.
