Audio Plugin Deals is currently offering Boom Library’s LiftFX beat drop generator plugin for just $25, which is 74% off the list price of $95.
LiftFX is a 64-bit-only macOS and Windows release that delivers risers, breaks, build-ups, swells, sweeps, falls, and downlifters to help you craft the perfect beat drop.
Note that the $25 deal is exclusively available at Audio Plugin Deals.
I can’t see a deal expiry date on the Audio Plugin Deals product page, but presumably, it’s a limited-time deal, as the plugin is still listed at full price on the Boom Library website.
The discount is automatically applied when you add LiftFX to the Audio Plugin Deals cart, and to complete the checkout, you’ll need to create (or log into) a free account and provide all the details usually associated with making a physical purchase.
LiftFX, which launched in August 2019, is made to help you seamlessly design your beat drop within an integrated workspace, allowing you to customize or automate it as you please.
In addition to the obvious applications for electronic music, the plugin’s also right at home when creating trailers and promotional content that requires the building of anticipation.
The plugin allows you to skip the tiresome process of building custom drops and avoid dragging samples into your project and all the associated busywork such as tuning, syncing, and editing them.
I suggest having a look at Boom Library’s walkthrough video (not the fluffy trailer), which shows how the plugin works in practice and some of the available sounds.
LiftFX comes packed with 275 presets, which are sorted into different applications such as uplifter, downlifter, rhythmic FX, and so forth.
Once you’ve selected a basic sound, you can edit it further with parameters such as the root note, Pitch Range, Duration, Delay, Reverb, Low Cut, and High Cut.
The Duration can be synced to your track tempo or unsynced. You can also further adjust the sound by changing the Direction, which can be set to Forward, Backward, Automation, or Modwheel.
There are also four macros below the main visual output, which switch out to different mods depending on how the plugin is set up.
LiftFX is mainly designed for ease of use and quickly getting the sounds you want.
With the amount of parameters and presets on tap, I can definitely see how you could pull a big range of sounds from the plugin.
However, note that the plugin is not really designed to give super-deep customization or sound design options.
Audio Plugin Deals doesn’t mention anything about iLok, but the Boom Library LiftFX product page states the plugin requires a free iLok account to activate.
